Bordering Nose Hill Park to the north, Collingwood is a northwest community also bordered by John Laurie Boulevard, 14th Street W, and Confederation Park. Established in 1959, Collingwood is an established and mature Calgary neighbourhood, ideal for families, especially those who have golfers in the mix. The Confederation Park Golf Course overlaps the community border and offers views of the green to its residents.

Community schools include St. Margaret Elementary/Junior High School, Collingwood School, and St. Francis High School. Filled with local parks like Canberra Park, an off-leash dog park, and Cayuga Park, these are just the beginning of outdoor recreation. Nose Hill Park and some of its pathways begin in Collingwood and provide access to places, such as Calgary Winter Club, the Stone Maze, and the Glacial Erratic at Nose Hill.

Other unique local amenities include Moose McGuire's Pub, L'apres MIDI Pastry & Bakery, and Salsita Mexican Food Market.
